The Starting Five-DraftKings NBA 11-13-2019
Yesterday in this column we had Taj Gibson, who absolutely crushed at his price. Tobias Harris did not play at the four like I expected, he bombed with only 20 DraftKings points, Looking back on it, was a reach and I should have adjusted when lineups came out possibly. Lillard was fine but struggled shooting and only hit around 5X.
Royce O' Neal didn't pan out either. Gary Harris ended up a fine play for about 5X as well. So all in all not the best night for the starting five, but we will attempt to do better today. So let's jump into it.
Devonte Graham vs The Grizzlies
Memphis is third worst in the league at giving up raw points to the PG. Terry Rozier technically starts in that spot but if the last few games prove anything about Charlotte its that Graham ends up running the show there. Typically bouncing between the 1 and 2, there should be plenty of opportunity for Graham here at just $6900 on DraftKings today he is in a spot that looks very appetizing.
Marcus Smart vs The Wizards
Washington is the worst at giving up points to the two spot on the wing. Even though Jaylen Brown starts at the spot, Marcus Smart spends a lot of time there as well. Love the price just $5800, not too shabby range there. Let's feel confident that Smart can drain some three's against this weak Washington team at the wing.
Kawhi Leonard vs The Rockets
I don't think anyone really needs to tell anyone, any night that Kawhi Leonard is a good play, but tonight he is a damn good play. We already know how the funnel works against Houston and Leonard is in the perfect spot to take full advantage. This is another game where the total has been skyrocketing. Over a 30 point raise since open and Houston remains slightly favored by roughly one point. Side-note Paul George is getting really close to being able to play. Reports are mixed at the moment, but I am leaning him not playing, if he does not go Leonard is a stone lock to me. If George plays you want to take a shot at one or the other.
Jaren Jackson Jr. vs The Hornets
On the other side of the Memphis-Charlotte game, we have The Hornets who give up the most points to the PF position in the league. Jackson will also check in at the five for part of the game. None of this should matter much with the likes of Cody Zellar and P.J. Washington down low, I see this as being a good spot for Jackson. Averaging over 30 minutes a game the last three games, you wouldn't know that judging by his lowly DraftKings price of just $4800.
Dwight Howard vs The Warriors
This one is a little different, Golden State is middle of the road at giving up points to Center. However, we have a situation where Anthony Davis is presumably sitting this game. JaVale McGee will start but Dwight Howard should find a few more minutes and I am banking on him to hit at least 30 DraftKings points this evening. With his modest price of $4800 this should be no problem. Keep in mind we have no regular season sample so far without AD in the lineup. Also this total is through the roof, has raised twenty five points with The Lakers now set as an 8 point favorite.
