DraftKings NBA Post Slate Value Report-12-10-2019

What's up dudes? Its your excellent friend "The Brand" here, going to take a look back at Monday 12-09-2019 slate on DraftKings. Ten games to break down and there is a lot to digest going forward. As mentioned, the slate was marred with question as many teams were on the second leg of a back to back set. As you'll see throughout the article here, I believe all of that affected play across the board. So without any further adieu, let me dive right into it.

Pistons @ Pelicans
Pelicans its been well documented are struggling defensively. To remedy that, they move Jackson Hayes out of the starting five in place of Jahlil Okafor. Kenrich Williams also moved into the lineup. This move was a tad puzzling as I don't believe The Pelicans woes are from any one player in particular but rather their very fast pace is putting them in situations that are negative. Without Derrick Favors down at the 4 or 5 they are going to have more issues as he was able to ban aid the play. Ingram, Holiday, Hart and Hayes all hit 6x here. On the other side The Pistons leaned on Derrick Rose who was the only player on the team to record significant value. Rose turned in 36 DraftKings points for his price of 5.6K. Langston Galloway was also a nice dud value play for 3.6k scoring 22 DK Points.

TimberWolves @ Suns
Baynes returned to the lineup here for the Suns and played 15 minutes making it hard for him to hit value. Rubio, Saric and Booker all hit value from the starting lineup. Mikal Bridges also hit value for the team off the bench with 34 DraftKings points. Kelly Oubre who I mentioned in yesterdays video hit a decent 5x performance as well. This is something we need to make a mental note of when making lines is that when we project a team to have a high total a lot of the time there can be a handful of players who get there. On the other side The Wolves it was a pretty basic night for them. Kat Towns flirted with 6x while Wiggins and Teague rolled behind him for 5x performances. No one else had a noteworthy performance on the team.

Grizzlies @ Warriors
Grizzlies got the road win here by 8, led by Ja Morant and a 6x performance of 41.5 DraftKings points. Dillon Brooks also hit a low value 6x performance with 28.75 DraftKings points. Valancunias and Jaren Jackson had okay nights but only returned around 4.5x value. D'Angelo Russell was able to hit 5x, his price I wouldn't be surprised to see trend down, so he is a guy to watch cause once that happens he should be in line for an absolute smash value game. Draymond also hit around 5x, Dray's numbers have been really not what you would expect for the situation there being what it is. Eric Paschall's minutes seem to be trending down. Alec Burks and Cauley Stein both crushed value here for 6x performances. Typically we are seeing very spread production from The Warriors and for me they are a hard team to nail down from a DFS perspective every night.

Raptors @ Bulls
The Raptors barely get by The Bulls here by a point. Really rough stretch for Toronto as I noted on the channel yesterday. Marc Gasol of all people led DK scoring for The Raptors by putting up almost 40 DK points en route to an 8x performance. I was surprised here that Gasol played 30 minutes in back to back nights, while Ibaka played 28 the first night and only 18 here but still hit value. The lesson learned is we can count on points against Chicago down low, even if both Centers are old and not going to play very many minutes. Norman Powell hit 6x while stepping into a starting role in Fred VanVleet's absence. Siakam and Lowry flirted with 5x but ultimately were not the guys we wanted to roster here for Toronto. For Chicago, Zach LeVine led the way and finally made value of 6x for the first time in a long time. The only other Bulls to make value were Thomas Satoransky who hit 7x with his 35.5 DK point performanceand Daniel Gafford of all people who at just $3100 hit a crazy low end value with a score of 27.25 DK points in just 20 minutes of work off the bench.

Thunder @ Jazz
I really thought that The Jazz had an advantage here with OKC being on this road back to back, but they had no problem handling these guys. It was hard to get too excited about anything OKC did fantasy wise though. Steven Adams led the way with a nice 7x performance of 41 DraftKings points. Behind Adams we had 5 other Thunder players hit right at 5x in Paul, SGA, Schroder, Nader and even Noel. Making fin value but spreading fantasy production very thin. The Jazz ran their top 4 guys over 30 minutes and there was little else for anyone. Unfortunately Gobert and Mitchell were only able to flirt with 5x values while Ingles was close to 6x. I played these three in a stack with Bogdanovich and I can just imagine what could have happened if The Jazz didn't struggle here.

Cavs @ Celtics
Another miserable loss for Cleveland, they stayed semi close through it I'll give em that. Two players hit value with Tristan Thompson hitting barely a 4.5x while Jordan Clarkson whose price has dove to just 3.9 on DraftKings put up almost 30 DK points making him a nice 7x low value play. Boston was led by Jayson Tatum who almost hit 6x with 45.25 DraftKings points, Kemba hit a nice 6x here. I played Kemba as I saw a usage spike would be there without Smart in the game. Oh, yeah Gordon Heyward returned a 10x value returning to the lineup at only 3K playing 26 minutes for almost 30 DK points. He was one of those pieces of hard to avoid chalk.

Kings @ Rockets
Kings pull off the upset by a point here off a last second three from Bjelica. As we've seen teams need to bring it against a team like Houston and Sactown was up to the challenge here. Only 8 players logged minutes for The Kings and 6 of those guys hit value, (talk about a tight rotation!) the only two guys that didn't hit were Yogi Ferrell and Bogdan. For The Rockets James Harden disappointed owners with a mere 52 DK point game. Russell Westbrook was fine hitting a 5x. Also note that Tyson Chandler missed this game for Houston and Gary Clark ended up with 22 minutes off the bench, Hartenstein did not play so that interests me going forward.

Clippers @ Pacers
Kawhi Leonard sat this one out for The Clippers Paul George and Pat Bev led the way for The Clips, with 102.7 combined DraftKings points. Harrell also hit a nice 5x with 38 DK, Zabac and Harkless also crushed for some low end value here as well. Lou Williams played over 30 minutes for the first time in five games but put up a miserable 17 DK points, leaving owners frustrated. Domantas Sabonis led Indiana again, no surprises there, here he did it in style with 56.5 DK points good a nice 7x top end performance. Below Sabonis though everyone struggled and the only other Pacer to hit value was DOUG FREAKING MCDERMOTT OF ALL PEOPLE! Dougie hit an almost 10x performance here with 26.5 DK points.

Magic @ Bucks
The Bucks for once did not blow a team out here as Orlando kept it close enough. That led us to the best Giannis game in a while where he hit 68.25 DraftKings points good for 5.5x off his monster 11.3K salary. Middleton turned in a nice 6x and we also got 5x performances from Bledsoe and Ersan. Orlando's usage has been interesting since Vucevic went down, concentrated spikes for guys like Fournier and Aaron Gordon, Fournier led the way here with 38 DraftKings points making it a close to 6x outing. Markelle Fultz turns in a 6x, while Aaron Gordon didn't kill us with a 27 point 4.5 performance. Khem Birch and Terrance Ross are the other two guys that are going to flirt with 30 minutes each night and see ups and downs in usage.
