Dallas Mavericks 2019 NBA Team Preview Fantasy Basketball Fantasy Sports
The Mavs will see the return of their top 4 players in minutes with Doncic, Finney-Smith, Powell and Brunson. The debut of new acquisition Kristaps Porzingis will most likely affect overall minutes played this year by Finney-Smith. However Finney Smith can make those minutes more effective possibly by coming off the bench.
Porzingis says he is 100% ready to go, but more than likely will be rested in back to back sets early in the season. Luka Doncic will be officially starting at the 2 but for all purposes should be the one running the offense over Delon Wright who is the projected starter at the 1.
The Mavericks will look to make up around 500 3 pointers with the departures of Wesley Matthews and Harrison Barnes, luckily they picked up a few guys who know how to shoot threes in Seth Curry, JJ Barrea and Justin Jackson.
Draft pick Isiah Roby doesn't look to contribute much this season unless of desperation. Interesting signing of Boban Marjanovich, which we all know what can happen when "THE BOBAN" is unleashed. Dallas will need to make up 686 rebounds lost with the departure of Deandre Jordan. Porzingis, Kleber and Finney-Smith should all benefit at the rim in fantasy terms this season.
Tim Hardaway's addition is also intriguing, although he has averaged over 30 minutes a game last two seasons, he seems to be third in line here in opportunity at least behind Doncic and Porzingis.
This squad I think have the chance to surprise some teams and win some games as long as they can make it all gel, the talent looks solid.
