In DFS NFL as well as Fantasy Sports in general, we should always be mindful of opportunity. Opportunity to touch the football is in the basic sense what we use to go deeper from traditional stats. With Wide Receivers it started as catches, yards, touchdowns, however, we dug deeper, then came targets, now we have air yards and an endless supply of stat information available. So for the purpose of this exercise I will be using two simple stats Snap Counts and Touchdowns to compile a list of Wide Receivers that we should take a serious look at in Week 4. So without further adieu, here they are... Here are ten Wide Receivers that have seen the field in over 90% of the their teams snaps through week 3 without a Touchdown.
Jarvis Landry
This should be a definite red flag here for The Cleveland Browns, it may be somewhat troubling that somehow Jarvis Landry has seen 99% of The Browns offensive snaps without a Touchdown through three games, on the bright-side he can't be too jealous of Odell Beckham Jr. since he only has one.
Robby Anderson
The Jets and Robby Anderson are hoping that the return of Sam Darnold can revive this dead offense. Robby Anderson here has seen 97% of offensive snaps, a whole 187 plays and has yet to score a TD. Jamison Crowder is right behind him at 93% snaps and does not have a score either, so things are pretty dark at the moment for the green guys.
Davante Adams
This one is probably the most puzzling for most, especially for those drafting him in the second round of Drafts this year. No doubt these folks are pretty miffed that Davante Adams has seen 96% of the teams snaps without finding the end zone yet. It is also could be troubling to them that Marques Valdez Scantling is now tied with Adams in targets and has a touchdown to boot. Scantling was being drafted on average about 8 rounds later than Adams, fascinating stuff.
Robert Woods
Definitely the most intriguing player in this write up, mainly due to the fact that clearly is on the best offense so far of any of the teams we have talked about. Woods and Cooks are tied for second on the team in targets while slot man Cooper Kupp leads the way. Kupp and Cooks have both caught balls for scores while Robert Woods is sitting with a donut hole through three games.
Will Fuller
While Deandre Hopkins sits with two endzone dances through Week 3, his compadre Will Fuller does not have one to his credit. So far the presence of Kenny Stills, Keke Coutee and other options have cut into Will Fuller's upside it seems. While he is still 2nd on the team in targets, its a pretty distant second comparatively speaking. Perhaps this is not the 1-2 punch that we quite remember from a year ago.
Allen Robinson
To be strapped with the chastity belt that is being the number one receiver on The Chicago Bears has to be an at the very least very cold undertaking. While Mitch Trubisky had yet to throw a score to ANYONE through Week 2, On Monday night he managed to toss three scores to Taylor Gabriel, leaving Robinson owners in all formats frustrated. Fear not, at some point and time, health given, Robinson is due Touchdown Regression.
Christian Kirk and Damiere Byrd have both seen the field for right around 90% of snaps yet neither has grabbed a Touchdown. Through two weeks the only Arizona wideout with a TD is Sir Larry Fitzgerald who comes in with a pair through three three games. This situation is unique unto itself, only The Cardinals and Rams have a trio of receivers that carry an over 90% snap share, yet The Rams only have one mouth waiting to be fed in Robert Woods, while Kyler Murray has two guys that through three games are going hungry.
