Arizona Cardinals
Clearly Larry Fitzgerald and Christian Kirk are the lead reads in this offense, which hopefully will only get better as the season goes on. Kirk and Fitz account for a 49% target share between the two of them. Interestingly the WR 3 and 4 on the team were Damiere Byrd and Keesean Johnson who combined for 32 % of the teams total targets. David Johnson was also significant as a running back with 13% of team targets, while Charles Clay, Maxx Williams and Chase Edmonds each saw a target a piece. Larry Fitzgerald and Christian Kirk are a combined $9100 on Draftkings in Week 2.
Atlanta Falcons
Matt Ryan got settled in with his new TE in Week one throwing to Austin Hooper 10 times, tied for the team lead with Julio Jones. Sanu and Calvin Ridley each saw around 14% of the target share while Justin Hardy and Devonta Freeman saw 10% each. Matt Ryan proved that he clearly has plenty of options to throw to with his WR1 and TE 1 leading the way. Note that no other TE was targeted besides Austin Hooper. Draftkings pricing for Atlanta unreleased at press time.
Baltimore Ravens
TE Mark Andrews sees a sizeable 31% of the target share from Lamar Jacksons monster game this week. Marquise Brown accounted for 20% of the targets making the combo good for slightly over half of team targets. Willie Snead, Hayden Hurst, and Nick Boyle combine for near 40% of the team targets combined. The last 10% is rounded out by Boykin, Ricard and Roberts. It seems like The Ravens TEs are indeed a three headed monster so maybe going forward we will have to see if Hurst and Boyle get the spiked weeks instead of Andrews. This would make sense due to them being in that secondary core of target share for The Ravens. Mark Andrews is $3800 on Draftkings in Week 2.
Buffalo Bills
John Brown and Cole Beasley combined for a 52% of team target share in week one. Notably Devin Singletary was given 7 targets at RB making him 3rd in target share good for 19.44%Dimarco Patrick received 2 targets while TJ Yeldon was nowhere to be found. Zay Jones was able to spell in for 4 targets and an 11% share. Rounding it out at 2 targets each and a combined 15% share is DiMarco, Sweeney and Knox. Devin Singletary is $4200 on Draftkings in Week 2
Carolina Panthers
Cam Newton LOVES his number one options at each position. McCafferey, Moore and Olsen combined as a trio for 85% of Newtons targets in Week 1. Curtis Samuel mustered 4 targets good for 10% of the share. Wright, Thomas and Hogan combine a mere 7% share with a target a piece. Carolina plays on Thursday night Showdown Slate on Draftkings is currently live and Draftkings seems prepared if Greg Olsen misses time, assuming that is why Iam Thomas is priced at $5600 on the Showdown Slate.
Chicago Bears
Around 50% percent of the week one share here went to Allen Robinson and Tarik Cohen. It should be noted that the offense definitely was not "clicking" and the output was rather abysmal. Nonetheless Mike Davis and Taylor Gabriel combined for a 30% target share. 10 other targets were peppered around to Patterson, Shaheen, Wims, Montgomery and Anthony Miller. Trubisky was trying anything and everything to get things going. This situation looks murky at best. Tarik Cohen is priced at $4500 in Draftkings Week 2 and received 11 targets.
Cincinnatti Bengals
Seeing a trend here across the league with a pair of players accounting for close to 50% of the targets or more for a team. We see the trend here as well with The Bengals as the duo of John Ross and Tyler Boyd accounted for a combined 48% target share. Tyler Eifert and Damion Willis both accounted for 6 targets good for and 11% share each. 15 other targets were distributed between 4 other players Uzomah, Erickson, Mixon and Gio. The Bengals were fighting for this game and Dalton tried to get everyone involved and did so pretty effectively. John Ross price was barely raised to $4600 on Draftkings for Week 2.
Cleveland Browns
Odell Beckham Jr. saw one of the largest single person target shares of the week with 14 targets good for an almost 36% share. Njoku, Chubb and Landry shared 15 targets and a combined 38% target share. 10 additional targets were spread around five other players for Cleveland including Higgins, Ratley, De Johnson, Hilliard and Harris. Draftkings pricing for The Browns has not been released as of press time.
Dallas Cowboys
The top 3 WRs for The Cowboys share the targets at the top here with Gallup, Cooper and Cobb sharing a total of 24 targets and a combined 56% of total team target share. The TEs Witten and Jarwin shared 7 targets for a combined 19% target share. The other 13% of targets were split between Zeke, Austin and Olawale. Randall Cobb looks like he is a priority in this offense and is priced at just $4500 on Draftkings for week 2.
Denver Broncos
Sanders and Sutton led the way here 17 targets and a 50% share. Phillip Lindsay saw his usual 6 targets. Noah Fant saw 5 while DeSean Hamilton saw 4 targets. Sanders is clear threat number one here and is only $4700 for Draftkings Week 2.
Detroit Lions
The trio of Amendola, Golladay and Hockenson combined for 32 total targets which was good for a 74% of the team target share in Week 1. Marvin Jones notably saw 5 targets but was only good on its own for an 11% target share. 6 other targets were distrubuted to Johnson, McKissic, James and Bawden for a combined 14% of the target share. Throwing to the backs was definitely not a priority in week one which may or may not be the reason the team shed Theo Riddick from its roster this preseason. Danny Amendola led the team with 13 targets and a 30% share and is listed at a mere $3900 for Draftkings Week 2.
Green Bay Packers
Green Bay Packers ended up with a triple threat at the top of their target share. The trio of Adams, Graham and MVS combined for 22 total targets, which was good for a 73% share. 8 additional targets thrown to 5 different receivers in Lewis, Williams, Davis, Tonyan and Jones. Combining for the other 27% of the target share for the team. The Packers struggled in week one but still got the win, hopefully week two will give them a chance to bounce back, it'll be tough with The Vikings coming to town but look out for MVS as his price is $4600 on Draftkings for Week 2 and even though we don't love the matchup his 20% target share could pay dividends in your GPP Lineups.
Houston Texans
Hopkins dominated the share here with 43% share on 13 targets. Duke Johnson was second in line with 5 targets and 16% share. The other 40% was split between 6 different pass catchers with Will Fuller and Kenny Stills seeing 3 targets a piece themselves for a 20% share of that. Carlos Hyde saw 1 target but led the team in carries efficiently he is priced at a modest $3600 for Draftkings Week 2.
Indianapolis Colts
TY Hilton seems to be clearly the priority here with 9 targets and a 33% share. After that it gets a little murky with Funchess (18%) Hines (14%) and Ebron (11%) Jack Doyle saw a total of 2 targets which is discouraging for his usage going forward. Deon Cain notably had two targets but they were big and he caught both of them so going forward I could see him being the one that benefits the most from the absence of Devin Funchess. Deon Cain is minimum WR salary of $3,000 and TY Hilton is considerable low priced as well this week on Draftkings for $6800.
Jacksonville Jaguars
The Jaguars target share is very crowded and undefinable at the top. Chris Conley led Week One with 7 targets and a 20% share, while Dede Westbrook (6 targets,17% share) and Leo Fournette (6 targets, 17% share) were right behind him. DJ Chark caught a TD but only received 4 total targets for a 11% share tied with Geoff Swaim. Armstead and Cole each saw a target a piece as well and a 4 % share between the two. Conley who led the team in target share is priced at just $4200 for Week 2 on Draftkings.
Kansas City Chiefs
Holy Toledo! Sammy Watkins and Travis Kelce accounted for 22 targets good for a combined 70% share between TWO players! Tyreek Hill was targeted twice before being removed from the game. Demarcus Robinson ended up with 2 targets, then a myriad of five players each saw a target a piece at the bottom. Sammy Watkins price was raised to $7200 after last weeks $5,000 price tag. Travis Kelce increased by only $200 and looks for some clear positive regression with this massive target share.
Los Angeles Chargers
The Chargers came into week one on the heels of calling Melvin Gordons bluff and refusing to talk contract with him until the end of season. Which will be counter productive obviously if the back never sees the field in 2019. Austin Ekeler was thought to be saddled with early down work, with Justin Jackson spelling in for most of the passing attention. That did not happen as Ekeler outsnapped and outtargeted Jackson 8-4. Ekeler ended up with the second highest target share on the team with a 22% share. The team was led of course by Keenan Allen with 9 targets good for 25% of the share. Hunter Henry and Justin Jackson combined for a 25% share on six combined targets. Notably Mike Williams and Travis Benjamin only accounted for 16% combined target share. One would think that the injury for Mike Williams would lead to an increase in share for Hunter Henry and maybe even Benjamin. Benjamin is priced at just $3200 and Henry is still down at $4200 for Draftkings Week 2.
Los Angeles Rams
The Rams look to pick up right where they left off a season ago, with the return of Cooper Kupp to the team the trio of Woods, Cooks and Kupp combined for 30 targets and 75% of the target share. This is a DFS players nightmare as trying to pinpoint which of the three will sustain more volume week to week will prove difficult. Interestingly the only receiving TD was scored by TE Tyler Higbee who saw 5 targets with a 12% share. Todd Gurley was the only RB to be targeted for one whole target. So clearly that was not in the gameplan here. Woods, Cooks and Kupp are all within the $6,000 range for Week 2 on Draftkings.
Miami Dolphins
The Dolphins share is interesting because they were one of the only teams to get truly BLOWN OUT in Week 1. Mike Gesicki and Davante Parker led the team with a combined 14 targets, between the two of them only 5 of those targets were caught. Good for about a 30% catch rate. Preston Williams saw 5 targets which was good for a 15% share. Going forward maybe The Dolphins don't find themselves so far behind and Williams doesn't get as much work but that's pure speculation on my part. Albert Wilson saw a 12% share rounding out the bunch before all the random pass catchers fill out the team, but do note that the RBs for Miami Drake and Ballage saw a combined 3 targets and 9% share. The Dolphins will host The Patriots for a week 2 matchup. For what its worth Davante Parker and Mike Gesicki are a combined price of $6,800 and did account for a 43% target share in Week One as a duo.
Minnesota Vikings
The Vikings said they were going to run the football in the off-season and that is exactly what they did here. Literally 12 team targets is all the Vikings had in Week One do to their massive domination of the Atlanta and a super effective ground game. Adam Thielen was good for 4 targets and a 33% share. Stefon Diggs was good for 3 targets and a 25% share. rounding out the bunch was Cook, Beebe and Rudolph seeing as a unit a combined 5 targets which made up 40% of the share. That is how little passing offense Minnesota had to roll out here. It's hard to take much from the lack of volume here but clearly Thielen is the only priority outside this run game with Dalvin Cook. I like both Cook ($7200) and Thielen ($7100) for Week 2 on Draftkings.
New England Patriots
Julian Edelman was clearly the priority Week 1, drawing 13 targets and a 33% share. The Patriots were in drivers seat all game therefore Rex Burkhead saw 8 targets for a 20% share, a trend I do not necessarily expect to continue. James White was just below Burky with 7 targets and a 18% share. Phillip Dorsett saw 4 targets and 50% of those targets were TDs, while clearly we can't expect that trend to continue its interesting because Edelman, White and Burkhead kill defenses with these short throws and then Dorsett and Josh Gordon come in as the home run hitters. Gordon saw 4 targets, 10% share with a TD. As long as The Patriots control this one there is no reason that Burkhead can't see 6 targets here even with the addition of Antonio Brown if he plays. Burkhead is priced at $3800 for Week 2 on Draftkings.
New Orleans Saints
The Saints were led by a trio of pass catchers in the Week One shootout with Houston, Thomas, Kamara and Ginn combined for 24 targets and 73% of the target share. The rest of the team shared 10 targets between 5 different pass catchers. Tre Quan Smith caught a TD but was only targeted twice. Ted Ginn saw 7 targets for a 18% share himself and is priced at only $4000 on Draftkings for Week 2.
New York Giants
Evan Engram led the way here drawing 14 targets for a near 30% share. Evan Engram immediately needs to be in the TE 1 discussion firmly because with injury to Sterling Sheperd and the already void for targets left by the departure of OBJ. Sheperd and Saquon Barkley accounted for 14 targets and a 30% share between the two with the former now injured. Bennie Fowler was able to draw 5 targets in this game where New York was behind from the get go. Sterling Sheperd is in the concussion protocol, if he does not play Evan Engram becomes a virtual lock as a high upside TE for $5200 on Draftkings in Week 2.
New York Jets
Jamison Crowder dominated looks for The Jets in Week 1. Drawing an impressive 17 targets and a 49% share. Leveon Bell was second on the team with 9 targets and 25% share. 8 additional targets were spread among 3 other players including Griffin, Enunwa and Bellamy. New York Jets pricing for Week 2 Draftkings is unavailable at press time.
Oakland Raiders
Darren Waller and Tyrell Williams proved to be an effective combination together Combining for 15 targets good for a 57% market share. Ryan Grant and Hunter Renfrow behind them combined for 7 targets and a combined 27% share. RB targets were not a factor here with only 1 target going to RB 1 Josh Jacobs. Tyrell Williams ($4400) and Darren Waller ($3300) are priced egregiously this week for Draftkings Week 2.
Philadelphia Eagles
Desean Jackson's return to Philly went very well as he was targeted 10 times, good for a 25% share. Behind him was Zack Ertz who didn't get much going but still saw 7 targets compared to Goederts 3. Still there looks to be many options here to take away from Ertz's productiveity. Nelson Agholor drew 5 targets but could only haul in 2 of them. Ertz in $6300 on Draftkings in Week 2 and looks like a very hard fade for me.
Pittsburgh Steelers
Juju and Moncrief each saw 10 targets here and drew a 38% combined share. Moncrief was very unaffective only pulling in 3 of those targets. Hopefully going forward we can say that usage will continue as long as his is able to actually catch some of those at some point. Johnson and Switzer were right behind him with 13 targets combined so job security is not a lock for Moncrief if he keeps this level of play up. Pittsburgh of course was also way behind this whole game so we can't expect the same volume however the share should stay around the same as long as Moncrief can step it up. Also note James Connor and Jaylen Samuels drew 6 targets combined. I like Moncrief this week as a huge bounceback to get significant targets for only $4000 on Draftkings in Week 2.
Seattle Seahawks
The Seahawks are the only team so far to throw less than The Vikings, with an ASTOUNDING 13 TEAM TARGETS! 54% of those targets were to RB 1 Chris Carson. I don't expect the split to be that big on a weekly basis but still not very encouraging signs for DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett who combined for 2 targets ( both Locketts) Chris Carson and his looking more like true RB workload are priced at $6400 for Week 2 on Draftkings.
San Francisco 49ers
George Kittle dominated share for the 49ers with 40% on 10 targets. Kendrick Bourne and Marquise Goodwin saw 8 targets combined for 26% of the share. Tevin Coleman left the game with a high ankle sprain, he had 2 targets when he left the remaining RBs combined for 3 total targets. Deebo Samuel was targeted 3 times, while Dante Pettis and Richie James each saw 1 whole target. George Kittle was the true TE1 in week one as far as target volume he sets up at $6800 on Draftkings for Week 2.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Very few takeaways from The Bucs target usage here. Very even distibution here with Godwin coming out on top with 6 targets and a 17% share. Mike Evans and Breshad Perriman join him with exactly the same figures. 7 RB Targets split between 3 backs, Jones, Barber and Ogunbale, so it looks like there is no set "passing back" here. O.J. Howard was targeted 4 times while TE Cameron Brate saw 2 looks himself. Breshad Perriman is interesting as a 3K dart this week when you look at his targets relative to the team here, also O.J. Howard priced down to $4400 from $5,000 he was priced at a week ago, off of one bad game.
Washington Redskins
Case Keenum spread the ball out beautifully in Week 1. We see one of the more balanced shares of any offense in the week. Chris Thompson led the way with 10 targets and a 22% share. Terry McLaurin and Vernon Davis each saw 8 targets, with a combined 34% share. So its looking like a lot of slot and dump offs here for Washington. Trey Quinn and Paul Richardson combined for 13 targets and a 29% combined share. Thompson, McLaurin and Davis are all sub 4K on Draftkings this week, with Derrius Guice out with injury this makes me very interested in Thompson.
